Share Your Records with Wicomico MDGenWeb
Some of the most useful material on this site exists because researchers and volunteers have generously shared records they have transcribed. If you have Wicomico County material that can help other researchers, contributions are welcome.
Step 1
Prepare the Transcription
Simple formatting is best. The goal is to preserve the information clearly and make it easy to convert for the web.
Submitting a cemetery transcription? Cemeteries have additional formatting guidelines. Please use the Wicomico Cemeteries Project submission instructions.
Step 2
Save It as a Plain Text File
Please send the transcription as a simple .txt file.
- Use: a plain text file with a
.txtextension. - Do not use: spreadsheet, database, table, or delimited-file formatting.
- Keep it simple: clear text is easier to preserve, convert, and archive.
Step 3
Send the File
Attach the completed plain text file to an email.

What Happens to Your Transcription?
Your transcription will be reviewed and prepared for display on the Wicomico County MDGenWeb site so it can be freely available to other Wicomico County researchers.
