CENTENNIAL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH CEMETERY

Delphine gives the following information:

Centennial United Methodist Church is located on Halls Creek Rd, off of Rt. 361 in Upper Fairmount. The church held its last Sunday service on the 3rd Sunday in July, 1999 as the congregation is now merged with what was called the Saint Andrews Methodist Church. These were two of the three churches originally associated with the Upper Hill United Methodist Charge.

Centennial has a sprawling cemetery, much of which is in the wooded part of the property. Many graves are overgrown and unmarked. My grandparents, Willie & Rosebud Harris, are buried here along with a great aunt, Ira Montee Scott and two uncles, Leonard Harris and James Simmons.

I will use the # of and the term "unmarked" for those graves next to or in the vicinity of readable headstones. Perhaps this info may help someone locate an unmarked relative.

Directions: Rt 13 south from Salisbury, to Rt. 413 to Crisfield. Turn right onto rt. 361 to Manokin, Fairmount, Upperhill. Turn left onto Halls Creek Rd. Church is on the left. The front doors of the church face Rt. 361. The rear of the property is toward a private residence. The major portion of the cemetery is located on the side of the property away from Halls Creek Rd.

Starting in the wooded area farthest from Halls Creek Rd. about 12-13 yard from the property line, working my way back to the church.
